The Red River Cultural District (RRCD) is a world-wide cultural tourism destination for authentic live music, food and drink experiences in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas. The District is managed by the Red River Merchants’ Association, a coalition of over forty local small businesses in the District – including not only live music venues, food, hospitality, lodgings, lifestyle and entertainment businesses, but also the Austin Symphony Orchestra, First Baptist Church, German-Texan Heritage Society and Waterloo Greenway. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the RRCD is dedicated to preserving our authentic Texas live music heritage through your support. All donations are tax deductible.
RRCD presents four annual district-wide live music programs: Safer Venues Fest; Oktoberfest; Free Week; and Hot Summer Nights. The latter two are FREE all ages festivals that provide additional revenue to musicians and staff during slow seasons through the generous contributions of our annual sponsors. Banding Together ATX is our charitable grant program focused on addressing food insecurity for music, service and hospitality workers during the pandemic. The Red River Cultural District is a safe space for all guests, musicians and staff.
