Founded in the Spring of 2020 as a direct result of the cancellation of SXSW as well as the ongoing economic devastation related to COVID-19, Banding Together ATX served as an emergency relief grant program intended to support Austin’s live music community.

IMPACT:

Since its inception, Banding Together ATX awarded $225,000+ across over 3,000 individual grants to performers and industry workers found with one of the country’s most iconic music communities

These micro-grants were designated specifically to support working musicians that rely on regular programming to survive financially, as well as local workers within Greater Austin’s hospitality and service industries.

Austin residents in the following industries who were unemployed as a direct result of COVID-19 were eligible to apply for the funds: music venue, musician, music marketing/photography/content, bar, event production/activations, food & beverage, hotel, and hospitality.

Notable business donors for Banding Together ATX include H‑E‑B’s “Helping Here“ food assistance program and Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s “Love, Tito’s” philanthropic initiative; as well as SXSW, CNN, Airbnb, Fandiem, and Lone Star Beer, among others.
